Our travel series begins in Paris, a city with many epithets. It is a city for lovers, a city of fashion, artists, good food, and wine. Simply a city of many faces. It is usually at the top of travelers' wish lists, but in recent months, it has become even more popular.
The French capital shone once again (and was filled with tourists from all over the world) thanks to the 2024 Summer Olympics, which took place there between July and August, but also thanks to the recent Fashion Week and the release of a new season of the Netflix hit called Emily in Paris. And it was the global craze surrounding the series that convinced us to go to Paris, even if (for now) only virtually.
However, we don't want to take you on a tour of notoriously known landmarks. We admit that even those are worth seeing at least once, but this time we invite you to visit seven locations associated with the Emily in Paris series, as well as places that the actors playing the main characters in the series recommend visiting in Paris.
In the footsteps of Emily Cooper
A pleasant "one-biter" with many original outfits, set in the inspiring environment of the French capital, which doesn't lack a good dose of romance, but also surprising twists, fun, and creativity. This is how we could briefly describe one of the most-watched series of today. If you are also a fan of Emily in Paris, go (first virtually with us, and later perhaps really with your favorite "partner") to the places where significant series moments took place.
Series base – Emily's home
Let's start at a place that has appeared in all seasons, and quite frequently. The house where Emily lives during her Parisian stay is located at 1 Place de l’Estrapade in Latin Square. Sit on a bench in the park in front of the house, sip your favorite healthy drink, and daydream about what it would be like if you lived there instead of Emily.
Gourmet stop – Chef Gabriel's restaurant
Just a few steps away at 18 Rue des Fossés Saint-Jacques you'll find Gabriel's restaurant. The catch, however, is that it's actually an Italian restaurant called Terra Nerra and you'll only feel like you're in the series outside on the terrace, the interior is completely different. But an espresso on this terrace doesn't sound like a bad plan.
La Boulangerie Moderne bakery – a croissant is a must!
We'll stay in the vicinity. Next to "Gabriel's" restaurant is a bakery where Emily Cooper bought an excellent croissant in the very first episode. We recommend following in her footsteps and indulging in this French delicacy. Ideally several times during your stay.
Savoir agency – the reason Emily came to Paris
Many scenes also took place at the Savoir agency, later Grateau, where Emily works. Although it is not a real agency, the building where it was located in the series is in the center of Paris on Rue des Bons Enfants. If you have trouble finding it, look for the five-star hotel Grand Hotel du Palais Royal. It stands right opposite.
Oasis in the hustle and bustle of the city – Jardin du Palais Royal Park
One of the key moments of the series, right at the beginning, was the meeting of Emily and Mindy. This took place in the beautiful Jardin du Palais Royal Park. Walk through it and look for a bench with the inscription "Aujourd’hui, c’est demain et hier qui s’épousent" (which translates to "Today, it is tomorrow and yesterday that marry"). Enjoy a good meal from nearby bistros or a tasty Care Bubbles drink on it and admire this pleasant place.
To art at the Musée d'Orsay
If you love art, we also recommend visiting the Musée d'Orsay. Who knows, maybe you'll even get engaged there, just like the series character Camille. Plus, admission is free on the first Sunday of the month. However, you need to book your visit in advance.
Don't miss Rue de l'Abrevoir in Montmartre
Do you remember how Emily in the first season unusually brought an advertising campaign for beds to the streets of Paris? Specifically, it was Dalida Square on Rue de l'Abreuvoir. This street in Montmartre was named the most beautiful in Paris by Mindy in the series. If you visit there, stay for lunch or dinner. La Maison Rose restaurant was also visited by Emily and Mindy in the series and in the past, it was a favorite spot for greats like Pablo Picasso, Edith Piaf, and Albert Camus.
